BMR vs. TDEE Explained
If you laid in bed all day without moving, your body would still burn calories equal to your BMR. TDEE, however, adds the energy required for daily movements, digestion, and structured exercise. Eating below BMR is strongly discouraged as it forces the body to conserve energy.
To safely alter your weight, you must calculate from your TDEE, not your BMR. Never create a caloric deficit that drops intake below your BMR.
